The Journey Home

A Choice to Build Something Meaningful

"Newa Home is not merely a hotel. Newa Home began with an idea: to show people what Nepal feels like when they experience it through the eyes of someone who truly calls it home."

Our Managing Director, Nikesh Magar, spent a part of his life in Japan, where he studied Tourism Industries. Japan gave him things — education, experience, a different way of living, and the chance to build a comfortable and secure life.

Somewhere along the way, Nikesh started thinking about home.

He began to wonder why he should spend his life building a future abroad when he could use what he had learned to welcome people to his own country.

Nikesh made a choice. He left behind the comfort and security he had found in Japan. Returned to Nepal. Not because life in Nepal was easier, but because Nikesh wanted to do something that felt truly meaningful.

Nikesh wanted to represent Nepal to people coming from parts of the world. Not through big promises or fancy words, but through the things that make Nepal special: its people, its culture, its food, its traditions, and the way Nepali people welcome a guest.

Our Philosophy

A Place That Feels Like Nepal

That idea became Newa Home. We wanted to create a place where travelers could stay comfortably, but also feel a little closer to Nepal.

Traditional Touches

The details, the carved Newari peacock woodwork, terracotta red bricks, and soothing ambient lighting are all woven into your daily stay.

Shared Food & Dishes

Hospitality means sharing an authentic dish, tasting freshly made Bara or Choila, and savoring local recipes prepared with warmth.

Rooftop Conversations

The conversations, asking how your day went, and simply sitting down together above the Kathmandu sunset to exchange real stories.

Honest Local Guidance

Helping you discover hidden courtyard temples you wouldn't have found alone, giving sincere advice on what to explore and what to avoid.

"For Newa Home, hospitality is not about giving someone a clean room and a comfortable bed. Newa Home is about asking if they had a good day. Newa Home helps them find a place they would not have discovered on their own. Newa Home shares a dish. Newa Home gives advice about where to go and what to avoid. Sometimes Newa Home simply sits down for a conversation."

Our Purpose

Why We Do It

Every year, people travel thousands of kilometers to see Nepal.

They come for the mountains, the temples, the vibrant streets of Kathmandu, the food, the trekking trails, and the stories they have heard about this country.

"Newa Home believes the part they remember most can be much simpler: How Nepal made them feel."

That is what Newa Home wants to be part of. Newa Home is our way of sharing Nepal with the world. Newa Home may not be the biggest hotel in Kathmandu, and Newa Home does not try to be.

Newa Home simply wants to give its guests a place to stay, honest hospitality, and a chance to experience Nepal in a more personal way. If you come to Nepal as a traveler, Newa Home hopes you leave as someone who has a piece of Nepal in their memories.

"Welcome to Newa Home. Welcome, to Nepal."
